I received my BSc. in Computer Science and Physics from the University of St. Andrews in 2001. I enjoyed this so much, that I stayed on at St. Andrews to do a PhD in Computer Science (A More Effective Use of Information in Search for Quantified Boolean Formulae), which I completed in 2005. During the last year of my PhD, I moved to manchester, where I joined RCS in 2004. I started out as an Access Grid Support Centre Officer, but as I couldn't keep away from software development, I was offered the job of helping to write the Memetic software for recording Access Grid, including ScreenStreamer. I have since gone on to be involved in the CREW and eDance projects, both of which are extensions of Memetic, and Portal Access Grid (PAG), which aims to allow the use of the Access Grid through a Web Browser.

Apart from my work commitments, I am also an amateur ballroom and latin dancer, which I have been doing for the last two years, with my wife Gayle. We are now taking part in competitions, including Blackpool Winter Gardens.
