IT Services provides support in the use of research computing technologies. Consultancy is available from a few hours support through to multiple person-year co-development projects.
Expertise from IT Services can help your research to move faster, in new directions, or at a scale and detail not previously possible. This service is available to all researchers at the University of Manchester, whether using research computing facilities operated by IT Services, located elsewhere in the University, or external/national facilities. High Performance Computing

Specialist support in getting the best out of High-End Computing (HEC - whether parallel processing, high memory or high throughput). We can offer support to researchers, as well as provide partnership on research grants for research computing support.
Visualization

Support in using visualisation and/or data exploration techniques and tools to effectively interact with your research data to find new information and/or to present conclusions to a variety of audiences.
Grid/e-Science, Collaboration and Virtual Research Environments

Support in the use of research computing technologies to underpin interdisciplinary research collaborations. Technologies include Grid/e-Science, Access Grid, VREs and more.
HEC Hardware Procurement and Advice
For enquiries about the Computational Shared-Facility, please email computational-sf@manchester.ac.uk.

Support in specifying and buying HEC-related hardware (compute, storage, visualization) for your research group/department and advice in the subsequent installation and management of these systems. Also advice available regarding contribution to the ITS Shared Facility.
